Journey Timeline
This isn't one walk — it's five, filmed across different seasons of 2024 and 2025 and stitched into a single hour, covering more ground than any other video on this site. It starts in the capital and ends on an island, by way of a mountain and two ports.
Athens opens it, starting at Syntagma Square opposite the Greek Parliament — the square that gets its name from the constitution Greece's first king was forced to grant here in 1843 — before continuing down Ermou Street, the city's main pedestrian shopping corridor. From there the walk jumps north to Kalambaka, the small town sitting directly beneath Meteora: sandstone pillars where monks began building monasteries in the 11th century, reaching 24 of them by the late 15th century before political and religious life across the region contracted. Only four are still active today, and the site has carried UNESCO World Heritage status since 1988.
Thessaloniki follows — Greece's second-largest city, and a noticeably different one. Its central square, Aristotelous, only exists because a fire destroyed most of the city center in 1917; the French architect brought in to redesign it, Ernest Hébrard, originally planned to name it after Alexander the Great before it ended up named for Aristotle instead.
The walk closes with Patras and Heraklion. The Patras footage stays in residential streets rather than the historic center — a quieter, more ordinary look at Greece's third-largest city and its main sea gateway to Italy, better known abroad for hosting the country's largest carnival. Heraklion gets the more central treatment: a walk through the city centre and past its souvenir shops, within sight of Koules, the Venetian fortress that has guarded the harbor entrance since 1540.
This is what TravelHubCam is here to show you: not a single place, but the range of one country — a capital square, a mountaintop monastery town, a rebuilt northern city, a residential neighborhood, and an old Venetian port — filmed as they actually looked across a year of visits.
